Holidays Bloody Hell.

A blogger I follow has recently been to Wales on holiday. Me too, I hope his went better than mine. I went to a  little village in Wales which I could never hope to pronounce but spelt Pontrhydfendigaid.  The Lodge was amazing, three en suite bedrooms and a kitchen better than mine at home. The countryside was amazing, the people so friendly and the seas side idyllic. What could possibly spoil that?  well a motor accident which left us without a car for half the holiday did not help. The amazing thing was that myself and three passengers all walked away with nothing more than cuts and bruises. The up side of the holiday was that all my family were suddenly forced to face a new and quite scary reality. One minute we were enjoying  a wonderful peaceful sunny day and a few seconds later climbing out of a wrecked car. We could easily have died in that accident. It makes you much more grateful for the life you have and far more aware of the fact that you should enjoy each day for what it can give. After the peace and tranquility of Wales we returned to Manchester just in time for the riots. Never a dull moment is there.

Downs downs and ups.

I did say I would try to stop venting but my friend Mukesh reckons it's good for you. Not sure but the last fortnight has been less than uplifting. Rio Ferdinand joins the uncovered celebs, Poor Victoria got bunions with this pregnancy, two cousins of mine lost husbands to Cancer my computer got wiped along with the backup hard drive and the bloody printer chucked it.Just as I am on the spiral of black thoughts (not  racist Mukesh I promise) my family got an invite to see a friend?relative, a sort of cousin in law once removed or something.  We all went up to the Derbyshire moors, fabulous evening, great view and the calm started to  return. This couple had been trying for a child for some time, details are irrelevant but they have just had premature but perfect twins. One of each (a boy and a girl)  for those who are getting confused. When you see two tiny perfect babies you could put into the pockets of a large coat all the crap of the world just blows away. Long time since I got emotional but these two babes did it for me. Just thinking about how tiny the finger joints were and imagining the Nerves and muscles tying this wee machine together rekindled that awe that we often lose. Whatever religion you follow or even if you follow none the miracle of the human life still remains the most wonderful thing on this planet.

I bloody knew it.

Not satisfied with the colour of that footballers underwear now we know he was at it with his brothers wife. Not a problem though as his brother was at it with someone else. Even better everyone hates miss Cole for being pally with her ex. Not sure who everyone is because as yet I have met no one who gives a damn. It reaches the stage where I actually dread reading a newspaper for fear of what comes next. The whole idea of blogging was something that did not appeal to me, since I started this blog I begin to realise why. I am showing all the signs of becoming a very depressing writer and this is only my second posting. I really must find something brighter before my next post.

Priorities or not as the case may be.

For some time friends have suggested I start a Blog.I always felt I had nothing to say but the recent events surrounding a footballer and his indiscretions finally convinced me. I fully agree that no one regardless of financial status should be able to muzzle the media. Having established that I suppose that now the press will inform me of the material and colour of his underwear if any and all the sordid details. Do I , indeed do any of us really bloody care. Our servicemen are loosing body parts and dying in various parts of the world. The Chinese tsunami has endangered the lives of many who lived in the area and particularly those who work in the Nuclear plants. Starvation kills thousands of children all over the world and Dictators kill their own people to retain power. In this broken and sorry world do the ups and downs of a footballers trousers really justify front page news. Obviously from todays news they do, but what does that say about the media and more importantly about our trivial society.
